몸체에 갈채(褐彩)로 큼직한 모란꽃과 넝쿨이 그려진 주자입니다.출수구는 작고 짧은 형태이며 손잡이는 꼬인 밧줄 모양입니다. 뚜껑에는 연밥 모양 꼭지가 달려 있습니다.모란은 부귀를 상징하고. 넝쿨무늬는 지속적인 반복을 뜻합니다. 오래도록 끊어지지 않고 이어진다는 의미를 내포하고 있어 끊이지 않는 부귀영화를 의미합니다.

손잡이에 표현된 밧줄 모양은 역량과 인내를 의미하며 도전과 어려움을 극복해내는 집념과 끈기를 상징합니다.
갈채(褐彩)는 철을 주요 착색제로 하는 채료(彩料)로 서진(西晋)후기부터 나타납니다. 굽바닥에 북송 시기의 황실과 연관이 있는 유물임을 알려주는 '官(관)'자가 새겨져 있습니다.
