사자가 보주에 발을 올리고 하늘을 향해 고개를 치켜든 모습으로 장식된 향로입니다. 사자는 타고난 용맹성과 위엄으로 인해 백수(百獸)의 왕으로 불리며, 신성함과 절대적 힘을 상징하는 동물로 여겨집니다. 특히 불교에서 사자는 불법(佛法)과 진리를 수호하는 신비로운 동물로, 지혜를 상징하는 문수보살(文殊菩薩)의 수호신으로 표현되기도 합니다.
향로는 향을 피우는 몸체와 사자 모양의 뚜껑으로 구성되어 있습니다. 뚜껑 윗면에는 향이 나올 수 있도록 팔괘(八卦) 무늬의 구멍이 뚫려 있습니다. 팔괘는 유교에서 자연과 인간의 본질을 설명하는 기호 체계로, 이어진 선(─)과 끊어진 선(–)을 통해 서로 반대되는 모든 현상과 관계성을 나타냅니다. 팔괘는 하늘, 땅, 못, 불, 지진, 바람, 물, 산 등 자연계의 기본 요소를 상징합니다.
전체적으로 남색 유약이 시유(施釉)되었으며, 짙은 색감이 작품에 무게감을 더합니다. 향로의 바닥에는 전설 속 동물인 서수(瑞兽)의 얼굴을 형상화한 다리가 3개 달려 있습니다.

炉顶上的狮子将爪子放在宝珠上，抬头仰望天空。狮子因其天生的勇猛与威严，被称为百兽之王，同时象征着神圣与绝对的力量。在佛教中，狮子是守护佛法与真理的神秘动物，常被描绘是象征智慧的文殊菩萨的守护神。
香炉由燃香的主体和狮子造型的盖子组成。盖子上方刻有八卦图案的通孔，用以散发香气。八卦是儒家用来解释自然与人类本质的符号体系，通过连续的实线（─）和中断的虚线（–），展示了所有对立现象及其关联。八卦象征自然界的基本元素，如天、地、泽、火、雷、风、水和山。
通体施深蓝色釉，浓郁的色调为作品增添了厚重感。香炉下承以三兽首足。

This incense burner is adorned with a lion that rests one paw on a precious jewel while raising its head toward the sky. The lion, renowned for its natural bravery and majesty, is often called the king of beasts and symbolizes divinity and absolute power. In Buddhism, the lion is considered a mystical creature that protects the Buddha's teachings and truth. It is also depicted as the guardian deity of Manjushri Bodhisattva, symbolizing wisdom.
The incense burner consists of a body for burning incense and a lid in the shape of a lion. The top of the lid features holes in the form of the Bagua (Eight Trigrams) pattern, allowing the incense smoke to escape. The Bagua is a symbolic system in Confucianism used to explain the essence of nature and humanity. Through unbroken (─) and broken (–) lines, it represents opposing phenomena and their relationships, symbolizing the fundamental elements of the natural world such as heaven, earth, lake, fire, thunder, wind, water, and mountain.
The entire piece is coated with a rich navy-blue glaze, imparting a sense of depth and weight to the work. The base of the censer is supported by three legs shaped like the faces of mythical beasts, embodying the form of auspicious creatures known as suishu (瑞兽).
