원나라 황제나 귀족의 고분에 있던 부장품인 '명기(明器)'로 추정되는 이 매병은 작은 구연부, 짧은 목, 넓은 어깨, 복부부터 좁아지는 몸체에 둥근 굽을 가졌다. 전체적으로 짙은 남유를 기면 전체에 시유하였으며, 보석 모양 손잡이가 달린 뚜껑이 있고 표면에 은은한 광택을 띠고 있다.
풍만한 어깨에는 정교하게 조각된 매화 가지 모양이 첩화되어 있으며, 그 외에 문양이 없어 여백의 미가 돋보이면서도 형태가 아름다워 조형미가 뛰어난 귀한 유물이라고 할 수 있다. 굽 바닥과 뚜껑 바닥에는 남유가 발라져 있지 않아 백색 태토가 드러나며 청과 백의 색상 대비가 신비롭고 아름답다.
据推测，该梅瓶是元代的皇帝或贵族墓葬中的随葬品，即明器。瓶小口，短颈、丰肩，腹以下渐收，圈足。
通体施霁蓝釉，盖顶有宝珠形钮，表面有隐隐的光泽。
肩部贴精巧雕刻梅花枝条形状，其外无任何点缀装饰，可以说是凸显留白美和造型美的珍贵文物。
底足与盖底无釉，可见白色胎土，蓝色与白色的对比更显神秘和美妙。
The meiping vase is presumed to be one of the grave goods excavated in the imperial tombs of the Yuan Dynasty. It has a swelling shoulder tapering to a round foot and rising to a short neck and small mouth.
This lustrous vase is covered overall with a dark-blue glaze. The lid is topped by a jewel-form finial.
The voluminous shoulder is applied with delicate plum clusters, and the rest of the body is set off with the beauty of space, overall showing off its sculpture.
The unglazed base reveals white ground, highlighting the splendid contrast of blue and white.
